I pay for weight consistency in a different way. I weigh my cases and put them in three groups. There is a median group that will contain about 80% of the bullets in any caliber and make. Those that are heavier I use for light loads for varmints and plinking. The lighter brass is great for practice rounds at targets. For any serious shooting I use the middle weight cases. I work my load up in them and get the highest accuracy in the fastest load available. Accuracy and consistency are the primary concerns with velocity a close second. If a load shows real good accuracy at one sitting but acts up at consecutive outings I discard that load in consideration of another that retains its accuracy over a wider range of variables. I need predictable ammo if I am going to shoot it year round and at varying altitudes.
