4 bbl .22
« on: April 15, 2007, 07:52:06 AM »
My Grandfather owned a 4 bbl.22 made by Mossburg called the Brownie. The barrels didn't move but the firing pin rotated. I've looked on several auction sites and a few books and have no idea if it has any value that would overcome my sentilmental value. Can anyone here help? Thanks, Ralph.

If you ever sell it I will wager that you feel guilty later.... ;)
Unless you simply need the money, I would keep it.
I still have my Grandfather's and Grandmother's
old 22's. Family heirlooms can't be replaced once gone.

In my Blue Book it says they made approx. 32,000 of these from 1919-1932. Prices range from $ 150 in 60% cond. to $400 in 100% cond.
Hope this helps.

Thanks OLDHandgunner I didn't think it was worth alot and I'm sure it's not even 60%. And you are right S.S. I don't "need" the money but I was looking at a sweet 1911. So it's back to saving and waiting. Could be worse I really could need the money. Thanks guys. Ralph
