I guide hunters in basically the same area.I met steve there last fall.I have never hunted with him myself but many of my buddys have. They all speak highly of him.He was a nice guy to talk to last fall. I am sure you will have a great hunt! Are you going bait or dogs?

Border,my buddy and i booked the 3rd week which overlaps both.We will be going out with hounds in the morning...and if we feel like it,sitting on a bait in the evening.I was up that way in 2001 and shot my 1st bear(200 lb male) .We hunted with Prime Time outfitters...Reg Curtis. My buddy didnt even see one. This will be our third trip for bear.1st was to Plaster rock,New Brunswick canada where the entire gang didnt even see a bear...we got ripped from that canadian outfitter...Im tring for a bigger bear this time and my buddy is hoping to score on his 1st.Next is out west or canada for a color phase....

Thats the ultimate week of bear hunting in Maine in my book Shooter.I prefer hound hunting for excitement  but it is neat to have the option of baiting that week too.I will be up there with 3 hunters that week.they want to do the combination too.Should be a blast !! Hope you have a great hunt,Good Luck !!!

I deer hunt out of P.B. Guide service ( Paul Bouragard) Its in the Alagash. We have good luck out of that camp. Last year he had 81 bear hunters and 68 hunters got there bear. He gets booked up early... He has pretty good acommadations.     You can do a search..... maine guides
Good luck on your hunt.
Blow a vintage Circe dinner bell and they will come...

dezertyote,
i've heard good things about that bear guide you use.Do you still get personal attention with a guide that has that many hunters going thru camp in a season though?I lean more  more towards the smaller outfits.
