PP'ing and grease cookies

Do you still need a grease cookie with a PP bullet?  Couldn't you lube the patch to achieve the same goal?

I'm not a black powder shooter but doesn't the grease cookie serve to keep the fouling soft between shots?

That's what I'm not sure of.  I suppose it wouldn't help the bullet much if it's BEHIND it?  As you can tell I'm not much of a BP'er myself, got a LOT to learn. ;)

Three ways to shoot the PP:
... Lube the paper
... Use a grease cookie
... Dry
For the grease cookie ... powder - 0.125 over powder card - 0.125 grease cookie - 0.060 fiber wad - PP bullet

Any of the ways, I'd either patch or blow tube the bore
