Kleanbore Muzzeloading Primers vs regular 209 Primers

Has anyone tried both and if so did you find that the Kleanbore primers fix the problem of scooting the charge from the too potent 209 primers??

hate kleanbores, horrible primers blowback, oily film fouling, hard to remove from the breechplug... Kept having delayed hangfires. Not a good primer for me to use. CCI and federals are the best for me. CCI shotgun primers are the cleanest ive found when it comes to blowback.

I have been using them with out any problems at all. My buddies use them also and they have not had any problems.  We use them in our Encores, I can get several (5 or 6) shots off without even swabbing the barrel with a spit patch.

IMO, the Remington  muzzleloading primers are the worst you can use, they are very dirty and do nothing to help the crud ring problem associated with 777 powder.

Anybody using them with real black powder??  I am just looking for a cheaper alternative than the .25 acp breech plug. 

I have also read that Remington 209-4 primers which are designed for the .410 work well and do not have the power of the regular 209 primers.

Anybody tried these??

I think it depends on what type of 209 gun you have. I have tried every brand of 209 you can think of, including the Remington 209-4's in the plastic primer carriers.

Winchester W209, Winchester WML209, CCI, Federal, Remington Kleanbore 209ML, Remington 209-4 Premier primers, Winchester Triple Se7en SML209T7. Don't like any of them in primer carriers.

I have the .25 ACP plug, and won't be going back to 209 anything. I use CCI 400 Small Rifle Primers in the .25 ACP brass. "The Better Primer Carrier"!

Busts, I have also switched to the 25ACP. I have been using the 25ACP breech plug for about 3 to 4 years now, my recent purchase of my Pro-hunter and new 25ACP breech plug for it, make the 209 primer obsolete for me. So now I am stuck with 1000 Winchester 209 primers and 400 of the Remington Kleenbore primers.
