new front sight for a gp 100

I just got a 4" gp 100 and i'd like to put on the bead front with the v notch rear but i heard that the front sight from ruger is designed for the .44 mag and .45 lc so its a little to high is that true? if so wheres a good place to get the right size front bead?

ive got a brand new v notch rear sight blade and you can have it if you want. I cant stand them. Send me a pm with your address if your interested
