Ammo carriers???
« on: April 19, 2007, 11:09:30 PM »
Hi everyone, great info here.  I am new to the NEF 17 HMR and am looking for a better option than my pocket for carrying ammo in the field.

Any suggestions?

I can't seem to find anything that will hold this small round.

Thanks

You can find two different things.1-it's a nylon thing that goes over the butt stock and has elastic that hold the shells.2- is called a wallet.I believe it holds 50 rounds in it.Cabelas or someone like that should have them.Dave

Well, what I did for my 22 mag is I bot an Allen Buttstock http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=230112  cartridge holder. Now, these don't hold 22 mag the way they come.....so I just took needle and thread (a sewing machine would work even better) and ran a stitch right up the middle of each cartridge holder. So, now the Buttstock cartridge holder holds 18 rounds of 22 mag's very snug.

No reach in the pocket or go for the belt holder clip open thingy. The X-tra bull-its are always on the stock and easy to access.
