I'll be trying to tie into one again this year.  I'm working under a slight handicap as I'm a shore bound fisherman. I usually fish from the Henry Hudson Park shoreline  or the new  park and boat launch in Scodack on the opposite side of the river. The stripers should be up this far within the next week or so.

Striper Update Report – Monday P.M., April 23, 2007

We are aware of a small fish being taken at the Rip Van Winkle Bridge on Sunday, and of another couple of smaller stripers taken from shore up by Henry Hudson Park in Bethlehem. Additionally, some fish were caught from the Rondout Creek at Kingston. None of these was really anything to write home about and none of them were brought in for an official contest measurment. The largest of these was the 32 ¼ incher at the top of this page which was caught by Catskill’s Mike Proper about 9 p.m. on Sunday.

I got this report from ...

The fish have lockjaw - we were on the water at 7:30 am - fished till 4:30 pm -we never caught one herring - had one hit on cut bait about 15 minutes after starting to fish - we were fishing out of the Corning Preserve
in Albany water temp was between 46 degrees and and 47.6 degrees - current was fast -not much debris floating by ... and water still real dirty.

If your interested drop me an e-mail and I'll let you know for sure when it is. it's free and will be held at the Henry Hudson park in the evening.
