My huntin partner and I got our first of 3 each for 2007, he got a nice tom, mine was a nice tender jake, pressure is off now!!

Thanks, dunno how much they weighed, didn't weigh em. The merriam's toms weigh around 18-20lbs, jakes about 12lbs. But I'll tell ya, the jake felt like it weighed 40lbs by the time I got out of the canyon I was down in!!

Great job, Tim.

I called in three in a group last Saturday. I had my 7 yr old boy with me, he was shaking like a leaf, especially when i made them gobble. I was having too much fun to shoot when i should have. instead, i tried a longer shot and missed (was aiming big, so i missed big...)

the boy's reaction was worth the whole hunt...

I've been huntin turkey for 12yrs, still get shakey and excited when a tom is coming in, or even if I just hear one gobble!! It's a good thing shotguns have heavy triggers, or I'd probably set the gun off before I was ready!!

Borg1, I know what yo mean my 10 year old went out in youth season this year & bagged a 20lb 9 1/2 in beard tom , smile from ear to ear. Did not even feel the 12 ga 3in mag being touched off

Pa but only in the fall season and some wmu's are still restricted to shotgun/Bow in more populated areas

Thanks Eric, I'm shooting a Mossberg 835 and #6 Rem Hevi-shot thru a MAD Super Max tube. I cooked the breast the usual way, the rest of the bird was prepared using the recipe for Gumbo in the latest Turkey Call magazine, it was delicious, the wife even liked it!!
