1st post, Im in trouble and its your fault
« on: April 21, 2007, 05:35:11 AM »
I saw a blue 6 inch Heavy barrel Model 15 in the local gun shop last week.
After doing a little research here, I went back and bought it.
I would say I paid too much for it. It was $275 with no box or accessories.
Doesn't anyone keep these items anymore?

23 years ago, when I started in Law Enforcement, I carried a BORROWED 6 inch VH Model 15.
I cant believe that I carried that much weight around in a hi rise Safariland Colt Python holster.
Other than not having vents and a different grip, it feels like the same gun. The one I borrowed
is still owned by the same owner, but he hasn't been inclined to sell it.

I cant wait to take it to the range.

Now, I got to figure a way to tell the WIFE..............eeks.............

It sounds to me like you got it for a good price. Most of the 357s I see are in the $350.00 range and up. Keep that factory number handy Genny can get you a wrench to change the barrels when you start buying more. I am glad that we could help get you into trouble.

Hey KELS, I've got a solution to telling your wife. At least it worked for me. Not sure if your wife shoots, mine does. Only time she ever asked me about a gun, I said, Hell Honey, I've had this since before we were married, I just never showed it to you. Do ya want to shoot it? She siad ok, and that was the end of that. Reminds me of the best t-shirt I've seen at a gun show in a long time, it said-IF YA KNOW HOW MANY GUNS YOU OWN,YOU DON'T OWN ENOUGH GUNS!! We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

Well, I told the wife, she wasnt happy, but the price didnt cause her any heartburn.
The 15 yoa offspring (better known as Son #1), looks at it and said cool, when do I get to shoot it? LOL

I paid $160 for my first DW used, kept it for 12 years and sold it for$200, so it's an investment, although I ended up buying another for $250 at a pawn shop; it's an investment!!!!
