Savage striker, anyone have one?
« on: April 21, 2007, 06:47:54 AM »
Im looking at one in .308, laminated stock, fluted stainless barrel with brake. I like the looks of this contraption, and have read favorable reviews, other than the complaint about the trigger. So who has one and what do you think of them. The guy is asking 350 for it, and it also comes with a Simmons scope.(power unknown)
What say ye?

 8) i would buy it  real quick they don't make'em  any more. scopes on guns generally do not add any value when in used condition at least not in my neck of the woods .  the 308. win is really great round and that is neat looking pistol . superdown

For a half-dozen years or so, I owned one like that in .308 Win, except mine didn't have the muzzle brake, the scope was a Burris 2-7X, and the base was a T'SOB. I was contacted by a friend," out of the blue", 2 weeks ago who wanted to buy mine. I sold it for $650, with about 60 rds. of ammo.
$350 is a good buy. The one I owned is very accurate, but they're heavy. Mine weighed 6.34 lbs., scoped.

i had one in 308also. it shot great with reloads . only thing i have negative is the weight and the noise . with the muzzlebreak ,it was nice to shoot ,recoil was very managable ,but loud. all in all it was a nice hunting rig ,and 350 is a very good price

I always thought they missed the boat by not chambering them in 250 savage! Im not a bolt pistol fan but if they made me a 250 id buy 2 of them.

I had the exact same gun. I really liked it. it was accurate with reloads as someone said before and from a bench it was a dream. Like my various Contendors I could not hit a thing with it shooting offhand so I sold it, went back to my BIG revolvers and once again birds are singing, flowers are blooming and life is good.
It's a great gun, just didn't work for my personal application.
