A very good shooting little .22lr. Absolutely the fastest at extracting empties. I have a buddy that has one and we have a blast with it. It will give a Ruger Single Six a run for the money. The trigger was a little rough at first, but it was stoned and it smoothed out

The 999 would also keep a large pile of papers from blowing away on a windy day. AKA..........

I had an H&R top break years ago. It was a fun little gun - wish I still had it!

I have an H&R Single Action Sportsman with grips set up for target shooting - they have an enormous beavertail at the lower end of the grip - looks odd, shoots great.

This revolver will hold its own.

I've had one of these for about 10 years now.  My 999 has become the "go to" gun when I need a .22.  They make speedloaders for it and talk about a quick reload.  Even sold my Ruger 45/22 because I never carried it anymore.  Mine is a 6", had a chance to buy a 4" once and have kicked myself ever since that I didn't.  Only thing I had to do was thin the grips because I have small hands.  Love it!     44 Man

It was an old thread so I wasn't going to post  but....

After 30 years of wanting one on and off, I finally ran into a minty one the other day in my local shop. It came home in an instant. This was bay far H&R's best revolver ( I've owned a few others in the past) I'm really surprised this design wasn't picked up by anybody else ( although there seems to be a decided lack of interest in .22 revolvers by any company these days.  The gun is a joy to fiddle with and is perfect for training and for lefties due to it's simple design.  My only gripe is that mine shoots to the left 2" at 50' and must have the sights way over to compensate.

Off topic but, I have a H&R 622 that looks like it's in very good condition. Doesn't fire every time, cylinder doesn't index every time. I would like to get rid of it to someone who could use the parts that are functionable. Anyone know of someone in this position?
