Shaving lead with seating die

I use a couple of Dillon Square deals.  It seems like sometimes I am shaving a little lead off the bullet when I seat it.  Should I just bell the mouth a little more?  I have been trying to go easy on the brass and have belled it just enough for the bullet to go in.

I expand and bell with the Lyman "M" die for cast, just enough so it doesn't shave.

use just enough flair to prevent it.

make sure its shaving on the case mouth. Ive also seen where an improper shaped nose punch will shave lead when crimping if your not using a seperate crimp die.

I had shaving problems using Lyman M belling die and RCBS seating die in 9mm, .357 Sig, and .40 S&W dies. I found it wasn't the Lyman M die, but the RCBS seating die to be the culprit. When set to crimp it meant pushing the bullet a tad deeper into the case. That's when shaving occurred.

The solution was to back the RCBS seater off to not engage the crimp feature. Then get a Redding taper crimp die and crimp with that. It meant another trip through my single stage loader but it stopped the shaving.
