Lyman mustang
« on: April 23, 2007, 08:46:11 AM »
Does anyone know who's making this for Lyman?
I really like the looks of this, hammerless SS.
But would more interested in a conventional breachloading center fire. It would help to know who/what to look for.

It's made in Italy by  Investarms, which I believe is a Lyman owned company.

The lyman mustang is a nice looking muzzleloader from what I have seen in the magazines. I like the unexposed hammer action and the top tang saftey. The finish on the stock is pretty also. I am toying with the idea of buying one when ever they get out so I can hold one. So many ( I got ta have guns) so little money!

The finish on these rifles is a synthetic polymer to look like a wood grain. Durability???

I have  one.  See my review of it at:

 http://www.hunting-fishing-gear.com/results-reader-reviews/Black%20Powder

The finish seems to be very durable.  Trigger has smoothed out nicely.

Best 100 yard groups from a bench with 3X9 scope are 1 & 1/2 inches.

Most groups are in the 2' to 3" range.  Plenty accurate enough for deer.
