Need 35 remington loads for 336?

 I am new to reloading and I am in the process of putting together a reloading kit. I have found load data for the 35 using 150, 180, 200, and 220 grain bullets.

    I am looking for load data to shoot the 250 grain speer or grand slam bullets but I can't find out what powder or how much powder to use? I did find 250 gr cast bullet data. Is shooting 250 grain cast bullets different than shooting 250 grain jacketed bullets regarding handloads?

I like the 200grain roundnose Horady bullets with 40grains of Hogdon Benchrest powder. IMR 4895 is another great powder with this bullet, I use 38.5-39grains and it is amazingly accurate. I don't see the need for using a 250 grain bullet the powder capacity just is there in this case, if you want to toss that bullet get yourself a 35 Whelen it will hold enough powder. The 35 Remington is pefect with a 200grain bullet and moderate powders.

i don't think there are any 250s with a short enough nose to feed through a 336. The 250 grain bullets are just too heavy for this case. Stick to the 220 Speers for your heavy bullets.
This case is best suited for 200 grain bullets such as the Remington RNCL. I have had excellent results with 180 gr Speers also.
For most loads I use IMR 3031 due to its excellent accuracy.
