Dakota .45 Colt
« on: April 26, 2007, 06:34:10 PM »
I've been trying to find some info on the Dakota .45 Colt., and keep running into a dead end.    Anybody know who made them?   This one in the pic has some age on it.   All I know is what reads on the barrel.

Can't figure out how to keep the pic on display while I'm off-line!? :-\

I´m not sure of this, but this is what I've heard.
The Dakota is made/sold by Jäger.
Jäger is/was a german dealer who bought the guns from Uberti.

Can you find any small stampings on the frame? If its made in Italy it should have some markings on it, maybe two letters in a small rectangle? (production year)

SAA
Yeah; we found it.   It says ARMI JAGER.   We know this one was made in the early 70's, because of a $175 Work Order for Gunsmithing in L.A. California  in 1975 for replacement with Colt Parts.   Wonder what that would cost now?

I'm fairly new with these SAA imports.  I've heard of JAGER, and I've heard of ARMI SAN MARCOS (is it?), but never in the same sentence.
