some people have no idea
« on: April 27, 2007, 05:23:23 AM »
I went to a locally owned sporting goods shop last week and asked if they had any Handy rifles?  The Fellow was early 50s and by his loud voice a little cocky.  He asked for fun shooting?  I said arnt all Handis fun to shoot.  Then ha showed me a Remington 700 in 223 that was way overpriced at $650.  By then I knew he had no Idea what I was talking aout.  I told him that was a little steep and asked if he had any New England rifles.  He said no,just a couple used shotguns.

Different folks have different ideas of what they consider fun I guess.. some won't ever own a single shot of any kind..I can only guess they aren't comfortable with having only 1 shot..It does take a bit to get used to them....

There are a lot of gun shops that won't carry the full line of NEF products..I think the reason is cost...The NEF's don't have the mark up on them as some of the other guns..and unless they stock a bunch of them and then sell a bunch of them..they won't make as much...and they don't want that many in inventory...The stores that do sell a lot of them...always seems to have a good supply of them in stock..you just have to look around till you find one..

I prefer single shots. 8) I have 3 bolt guns in .224 center fire (varmints) and have converted them over to single shots. I even took out the ejectors in the two Savage bolts. Just pick the cases out. That is why I like the Handy Rifle, naturally a single shot. The only way I want multiple shots is for dangerous game.
