holographic sight on t/c
« on: April 28, 2007, 01:54:38 AM »
I am new to the use of scope on a t/c. I see that many of the holographic sights say they have 'unlimited eye relief'. Would these be good candidates for use on a t/c? I am considering putting it on a 10' for use for deer hunting (shots less than 100 yards). Any one used these and what is your opinion?

They work well enough at what they are supposed to do. I just don't like the fact that they're fairly expensive if you only get a year's use or so before the warranty expires and they crap out on your TC.

The only ones I've seen that were not NIB in a gun store were broken. Maybe they really belong on AR-15s and such with Uncle Sam footing to bill to boot.

I have a bushnell holo sight XLP on a remington shotgun and like it so far. Very fast target aquisition. Only put about 25 3" mags thru it so I can't comment on the longevity.

I bought a cheap holo sight (BSA) for my .45 WinMag. It would not take the recoil. This means I have to buy a 25-20 barrel for my Contender or the sight was a waste of money. I am sure my wife will be unhappy, but I will do what I have to do.
