Question about action length
« on: April 29, 2007, 04:29:57 AM »
I have a question about the action lenght on the Ruger M77 6.5 x55 swede.

Is it actually a long action or is it a medium action? Ive heard both ways, I might be interested in a aftermarket stock.

Thanks in advance.

Is Ruger making 3 action lengths now? I thought the .375 Ruger was a standard length.

I dont know myself. but I think they already have three.
I believe that the 77/22  is one then you have a short action and then the long action.
But I am not totally sure about this. and I dont know if the swede is a different action like a medium.

Rugerfan01, Ruger makes 3 action sizes in the M77mkII. The short action, the long action (standard length) & the rare magnum action for the .375 H&H, .416 Rigby & .458 Lott. Yours would be the long action.
