Look at the underlug pics near the bottom of the page in the FAQs, if you have the first generation extractor, it was notorious for failure to extract, that's why there is a 2nd gen extractor.
Usually a hard to open barrel/barrel release is caused by too hot of load, I've experienced that with the 300WSM barrel. Take a look at the barrel/frame gap at the top of the barrel after the shot before breaking it open, look sideway across it to see if you can see a gap, if there's a gap, the loads are too hot. Even some factory loads are too hot, Hornady is one that's been reported to be.
As usual, make sure there's no oil on the latch or latch shelf. The shelf could be rough too, that may cause the barrel release button to be hard to press to release the barrel.
