22 Hornet Superlight

I should be getting my 22 Hornet barrel tomorrow. After all my talk, my wife thinks she wants one. I was thinking about getting her a superlight youth model. Are they OK? Or should I get the standard 22 Hornet and put youth stocks on it? Thanks,

I have like mine quite well in the time I have had it, with factory ammo I was able to manage 1.25-1.5 of an inch on a really windy day, I took it on a jackrabbit hunt and it did really quite well. It is really easy to carry around. Because the hornet is such a sedate round it is not as susceptible to the normal superlight problems. as for the question that superlight or regular, that depends if it is a bench or at the range sort of gun and wieght is less of a factor then the regular if it is a walking varminter.

Thanks aulrich, probably just backyard shooting 50yds or so. She really prefers light guns. I wasn't sure if the Hornets were having the problems as the other superlights. Benchrest accuracy isn't an issue.

Have one of each & have not seen any issues with the super light, my son can put 50-100 rounds through it &  still hitting soda cans at 75-100 yrds. no real difference except length & weight. Did bed the rail to the barrel on the super light, just didn't like it hanging out there like it did, if you want to use the open sights this in a non issue

I have one and love it. I have gotten as good as a .502" group at 100 yards with a max load of lil gun and a 35 grain Vmax. I did put a vinyl washer under the forearm screw to free float the barrel.
