I posted about this girl previously but did not have a link.  Yeah, it really blows my socks off as well.  More power to her I say.  Of course, it really takes the wind out of the sails of some macho men whose bear hunt ended in less spectacular fashion!!

I think the biggest gun I had shot when I was 10 was a 20 gauge....., maybe a .44 with some light loads...

Quite impressive by any means.

  Although this bear was killed in self defense, this site claims it to be the larges grizzly in the world.   He had the remains of 2 people in his stomach plus 4 rounds of .38 caliber.   They back tracked him, and found the .38 revolver with 6 fired rounds.   The young man who killed him used a 7mm Mag.  It took 7 shots to stop his charge within a few feet, and 5 more finished off the 14 foot tall bear.

The info in the link you provided is incorrect.
The bear was actually killed by 22yr old airman Ted Winnen who was hunting deer, but also had bought a bear tag. It was actually 10'6", and weighed somewhere in the 1000-1200 pound range... big, but not a world record. The bear was not charging, and had not attacked anybody before being shot. It was taken with 6 shots from a 338mag, not 16 from a 38 and 7mag.

  I was sent this from what I thought was a reliable source.    I told a bunch of men at church last night about this too.   I guess the good thing about this is that the truth came to light.   What's that old saying?   Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see?

I love this story. A 10 year old girl shooting a 375,,,,, ACCURATELY and bagging a BIG bear. I will stop complaining about recoil.
