picked up a new stainless bearcat

got 2 blued ones for the grankids and i think this one is going to Alan Harton. After seeing all of 2dogs work alan did for him i think i will have him build me a gun on it. Im not sure yet what though. Its either going to stay a 22 or possible be converted to 32 sw long. Im even thinking of having him reshape the grip frame into a miniture bisley. Ive allready got a j frame rear sight thanks to 2dogs that will go on it either way.

I have a blued and ss Bearcat. I have limited myself to opening the rear sight and playing with the trigger. I am sorely tempted to have a "J" frame rear sight fitted to the ss one.

   As a kid I owned an old S&W .32 with a 6" barrel. One of my old mentors taught me how to load the cases  with a buckshot and Bullseye powder from a 22 rimfire case with a wire soldered to it for a handle. Was not a long range setup, but used it to kill a lot of rabbits and squirrels. Your saying you may convert it to 32 S&W long brought back memories from the past. Not very many people do that, thanks. Hope you enjoy the little gun in whatever form you have it built. Love the sight change, great improvement.

ive allways shot alot of 32 specials in the 32 mag rugers. with a load of a little bullseye and a 100 grain bullet there like shooting 22s only quieter. lots of fun.

I've got one and I love it.  I have done the trigger and blackened the sight but thats it for now.  A new dovetailed front sight, grips and a lanyard ring are all that are in the plans for it though.

Cylinder and Slide shop also does it, but they have at least a 2 month wait to start.

recently got a really old one with a lot of mileage and character on it; shot it today...I was so impressed at twenty five yards.

Dan in my opinion a guy couldnt have a better kit gun then a bearcat with ajs. sights. there not just for kids. I bought two of them for the grandkids to shoot and fell flat in love with them. I actually prefer them to the single sixes. thats why i bought this one for grandpa.

The J frame sights are smith j frame sights ? I assume ?  I was so impressed with the little gun and the weight was intoxicating...UH ( ok I did use it to shoot a few beverage cans before the day was done, )  8)  I forgot I had it on and sat in the truck and then perused the net on the couch with it sill riding on my belt... can't say that ever happened before...with adjustables it will be the go to item for every trip, packed in the ruck sack or on the hip, riding in the truck.... I see a long relationship with this one..not all are guaranteed that in my closet...
Paw Paw needs a gun. and if it is perfect size for the grandkids to learn on.... well that excuse is as good as any.
