Today I had a great time shooting my Eli Whitney 1851 .36 cal. I bought it new when I was 17 (I'm 44 now).
My grandfather got bit by the black powder bug when I was 14 and after he had taken me shooting with his 1851 colt navy I too was bitten. So now I am introducing my son to "the bug" as well. He's 11 and while he is a little scared of the smoke and noise he liked it a lot.
This was my first time makin in smoke this spring. As far as how well we shot well... I do need new glasses, and my son is only just starting out.
I've lurked here mostly since the " shooters" forum closed down a few years back. I've learned a lot and it has made shooting easier, and safer for me.
Thanks to all, Mark
