Shelf life of ghosts?
« on: May 22, 2003, 03:43:20 PM »
Read an interesting article years ago, pondering if ghosts just naturally dissipate after a while.
The writer pointed out that most ghosts are less than 500 years old. So, he believed that the energy that creates ghosts eventually wears down.
If not for this, he pointed out, Europe would be awash in the ghosts of Romans and their enemies. But ghosts of Roman soldiers are quite rare.
Similarly, he noted, North America should have "spookloads" of the ghosts of Indians and ancient people but they are not nearly as common as the ghosts of settlers and their descendants.
Interesting, no?
Makes sense. After a time, all energy exhausts itself. Perhaps ghosts are simply some form of energy we have yet to understand.

All the ghosts, except one, were modern.

You make a good point.  I did see a ghost once who was dressed in roughly 1690's fashion, but the others were modern.

I also saw an animal ghost, a bebe parrot (small parrot).  Does this mean that animals have souls?
