Saw some cool stuff at the gun shop today

I saw a ultra .223 with the thumb hole stock.It was very nice,the buttstock was held  on with a button head allen bolt in the thumb hole area,It also had the extractor barrel on it.I have to admit I think I like the extractor better than the ejector.I also looked at a .45 colt carbine,which I also liked.the stock set wasn't finished all that nice I have to admit,but the checkering was excellent.I think I might buy another handi to get the stock set I wan't and send it in for a 45 colt barrel.The colt carbine was $399.00, is that a fair price?It seemed a little high to me for a handi.

I forgot to mention the recoil pad on the stock had the marlin logo on it.

I have one of the T-hole Ultras coming this Thursday, I was wondering how well the stocks were done, they're the first available, H&R isn't sure they're going to offer the stocks as an accessory, they didn't tell me why the rifles aren't on their web site tho, even tho I asked.

Hey Quick,you will like the stock set.It dosent fit so great to the action like all the other handi rifles,it has proud wood like the others if you know what I am saying.the finish was excellent on the wood though.Do all the newer production 223 barrels have the newer twist rate?

Depends on when it was made, H&R has switched back to 1:12". The only way to know what the twist is, is to run a tight jag/patch thru the bore, H&R doesn't even know.

$399 for a Handi no way!!!
Unless it's a custom barreled tweaked Handi...still I would have reservations..

Those new lams are nice but at the price they seem to be running at is still steep to me
