8mm Rimmed Cartridges
« on: May 09, 2007, 07:41:50 AM »
Just went to a Encore from a org. Contender.  I would like a 8mm something rimmed.  Any body have any experience with any of these, 8x57JRS, 8mmJDJ, or the 8mmGNR.  So far leaning to the 8x57JRS because of cases being available.  I don't want to get into case forming.  Thanks

I don't presently own an 8mm JDJ, but case forming is easy, as with the 2 on either side of it, the .309 and the .338 JDJ no. 2. Just neck down .444 cases in 1 step and let 'er rip.

The JRS has been working for me for a long long time now on everything from moose on down.  I handload nothing in it but 200NP's and they work perfectly on moose and on smaller animials like deer...

I'm very happy with the way the JRS loaded with NP's performs on game...

Hi
I  have the 8MM GNR,last year I took a big boar with the 200gr Nosler Accubond at 2400 fps and a nice 10 pt Whitetail with a Rem 185gr PSP at 2400 fps out of a 14" bll.
Here is a picture of the boar over 200 lbs it ran about 20 yds before piling up.The deer was shot at 90 yds
