Winchester 94AE Trapper
« on: May 09, 2007, 03:42:28 PM »
Recently bought a 94AE Trapper.(30-30). The stock is to short and needs to be made longer. Would I have to re-stock it or can I use some kind of slip on recoil pad. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

If you need only an inch or so to extend the stock I would use a recoil pad.  You can install it yourself or have a gunsmith install it.  It should help a bunch.  Slip on pads are ok but not as nice as a good recooil pad.  If you feel you should have a new stock make certain to check the length of one on a Winchester 94AE Traditional Rifle to see if it is the same length - if so, save your $ and get a recoil pad installed.  HTH.  Mikey.
