I like the #1 1/2 coil and cable drowners for coon.The #11 will hold any coon it gabs onto,and I have caught many ,many coon in my #1 stoploss at my rat sets.The key with holding coon in your rats sets, is to use a staking system that will hold any coon.Lathe and willow stobs,are not allowed on my line.1x1 hardwood stakes 4 to 6 feet in length are what I use for rats.This system has held many coon over 30 pounds and beaver up to 53 pounds.
Coon are big and strong, but I am opposed to using big traps on them--I don't need them.
