Sorry James, not a .270, but I do have the American in 7x57mm. It has been the most accurate rifle I have ever owned with my handloads. I think most folks will talk about the accuracy of their CZ 550 American and CZ 550 Full Stock rifles. These things are just plain accurate. In addition, under that elephant snot CZ uses as a finish on the stocks, sometimes there is a very attractive piece of Turkish Walnut. I refinished my rifle. The single set trigger is fantastic. Just push the regular trigger forward until you hear a click and you have a trigger that takes all of 12 ounces of pull to trip. What's more, the trigger mechanism is highly adjustable by most anyone. The only drawback, in my opinion, is the CZ 550 Americans seem to be a tad heavier than a Winchester or Remington. Some folks complain that the stocks feel like a club. I am 5'9'' tall, weigh 160 pounds and have thin arms and legs, and the rifle feels right to me. I do not have large hands. As far as the .270 caliber, you are the third individual who has posted in the last week that they plan to get a CZ 550 American in .270 Winchester. Go for it, the rifles are well worth the money. I have a Leupold VariX-1 in 4x13x40 on top of my rifle and it fits perfectly. Though no a scope with paralax adjustment, it is a darn good scope for the money in my opinion. Have a good day sir!
