Maybe someone can give me a little info on this rifle i just picked up its a model 336 SC in 35 remington with a serial # V30XXX  A friend is holding it for me and i'll have it in two weeks Its tapped for scope mounts has no checkering on the wood , i beleive the forend has a cap on the front like the ones on the 1895 and the tube mag. doesn't go full length , also like the 1895  I hope someone has some info , Thanks Tanoose

The SC was the Sporting Carbine, had 3/4 magazine and pistol grip stock. I had a "T", it was made in 1960 I believe, so that should make your "V" manufactured in 1962. Later 336's had a grip cap, not sure when they started. My 1952 doesn't have it but my 1960 probably did. I'll check my old photos. So all sounds Kosher if stocks match, just depends on condition. Great guns, I find reasons to sell them but then buy another 'cuase I can't live without one.

I have one P 23xx built 1956. Give marlin a call. They can tell you when it was built. Nice guns

"V" prefix Marlins were manufactured between August 1961 and the end of 1962.  Only the Marlin Firearms Co can give you the exact D.O.M.

Mine shoots everything, like a house afire - LeverEvolution ammo included.  :)
