I have a Burris 3x9 Pistol Scope question
« on: May 20, 2007, 05:18:54 PM »
No other markings, just 3x9 Burris. It was mounted on a .44 Mag Ruger Redhawk. I have since transferred it to a .223 TC/Encore. However looking through it as I do my other pistol scopes the best view is from 3 to just under 6 power. I have to hold it closer to get a full view at 9 power. Is this a bum scope or what? It is for varmints and an occasional Coyote and I may go up to a .243 Win.

I am partial to Bushnell's and Nikon's and can always get another, but I would like to know what is wrong, .....if anything with this one.

Anybody?

To all who have read and had zero output. I have finally found on the FAQ from Burris the answer. HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Nikon and Bushnell's DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I can hold a fixed hand to eye position and adjust with no change in view other than bringing it closer.

So thanks for ?

Does the field of view stay the same at all powers on the Nikon and Bushnell?

I have that same Burris scope on my Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Cassul.  Well, if you can get it up to 6x without problems, then you are doing better than me because the max that I can get it to (and still keep a clear picture) is about 4x or so.  I'm not THAT tall (about 6'0"), and I don't have gorilla arms, so I don't know why my max seems to be about 4x.

I must say, however, that the scope has help up perfectly, even with heavy 300 grain loads.
