Firing pin not hitting dead center
« on: May 21, 2007, 02:30:53 PM »
Breaking in an ProHunter barrel in 22-250 and noticed the firing pin is not hitting dead center on the primer.  It's not off my much but it's off.  Is this going to be a problem and is there some way to correct this problem?

If its not causing any miss-fires I wouldn't worry about it. I would mount another barrel and see if it's the same way. That should tell you if it's barrel related or frame related.   KN

Are you assuming that the ammo you put in the chamber is "dead center" ?

This is not a problem.........

Anyone who handloads can tell you it is far more common than finding spent cases with the primer struck "dead center".
