If you want a "technically correct" answer it's ZERO %.

Brakes do not reduce recoil they redirect it. All it does is prevent the gun from rolling in your hand as much. Rolling up is the way single actions are supposed to deal with recoil. To me if you don't want that then just get a double action to begin with. I do generally.

What Graybeard said was correct. I have owned two handguns with a recoil reduction system, and they both worked fine. The first was a T/C Condender in a 7X30 Waters. The factory muzzle brake reduced the felt recoil quite a bit. The second handgun was a F/A .475 Linebaugh Model 83 with a 7 1/2 bbl. It was purchased with a Factory Magnaport with four openings in the top of the bbl. The felt recoil on the .475 was about the same or a little more than a 240 gr .44 mag. In my opinion. After my shoulder injury, the recoil was still too much and I purchased a F/A Model 83 in a .44 mag. I hope this helps. Rod in Pa.
