Ph Gain
« on: May 23, 2007, 05:14:55 PM »
Does any one know a source for this product in East Central Alabama?  I got a catalog from Evolved and notice they have dropped the "Ph"and are calling it Gain.  We haven't been able to get any lime spread in several years and this product looks like it would solve our problems.

Not really, heck I've not even heard of it. But where in East Central Bama? Surely you have a County Co-Op don't you? That's where I get my lime and they even spread it for free as long as you buy at least $150 worth which if you have a field and need lime you'll be buying anyway. Price is $40 per ton here in Calhoun Co.

I am in Tallapoosa county and if we have a co-op I have not seen it.  The  only one I have seen was down in Macon county,  and they referred us Piedmont Fertilizer.  Piedmont said the
y would put us on their waiting list--which was the last we heard from them.  I read about Gain on Boartuffs forum.  It is a liquid that mixes one gal. to eight gal. of water and is supposed to be like a 1000 pounds of lime and could be applied with one of those ATV sprayers.  This would work out well for us because a lime truck can no longer get to some of our plots.
