A-Bolt Hunter in 223 WSSM
« on: May 25, 2007, 04:50:03 PM »
I did well on selling some equipment and had a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket.  I foolishly stopped by my favorite store and spied a Browning A-Bolt hunter (blue & walnut, used but looks new) in 223 WSSM with a older Bushnell 4-12x40 AO mounted for $439.  I put it on layaway today, and will pick it up in about two weeks.  Does anyone have any experience with a 223 WSSM?  I'll be searching the net for good reduced loads as I really don't need the white hot velocities this round generates (would rather have found a Hornet or 223 REM).  I just couldn'd pass this one up though.
I aim to please - but often miss.

It's a good groundhog gun.

Well, I brought it home today.  I'll give it a good cleaning and adjustment.  This rifle is very light.  Range report on Sunday.
