This has been an interesting topic. It makes one wonder how many impossible shots have been made that are never told about.
We had a kid that use to hunt with us , and carried an old 30 30 marlin. The kid was an excellent shot on running game one of the best I'd ever seen. One day we caught a coyote in a big hay field running flat out at the long side of 300 yrds. the kid pulled that old marlin out took aim while everyone ribbed him about the long range and his short range 30 30. Well he squeezed off a round and rolled the coyote into a ball. He looked at me first his eyes as wide as saucers. He couldn't believe he'd made the shot. I stepped up slapped him on the back and leaned in close and told him lose the shocked look and just smile at everyone. He said but it was luck. Yeah it was, mixed with skill, good shot. Later he said I can't tell anyone about making that shot they'll think I'm a liar. I said well the rest of us will tell the tale you just enjoy the feeling it gave you.
