45-70 Leverevolution ammo Downloaded!

Apparently Hornady's proprietary powder used in the 45-70 Leverevolution ammo is in short supply, so they reduced the velocity spec from 2050fps to 1875fps due to the powder they have to use in the mean time. :'(

That defeats the purpose of the ammo. The increased BC is not enough, they can keep it!!!

Maybe they'll offer the flextip bullets as a component if their sales on ammo drop!!! ;D ::)

I wonder if they will do this to the 450 Marlin ammo also.  :'( :'(

The good news is they must not be using the same powder for the 450 Marlin. I wouldn't get my hopes up too high without calling them and asking first...They just might have a large stock pile of the ammo loaded for it..or haven't changed their web site to reflect the changes yet...1-800-338-3220...

As Mac said don't count on it.  The 45-70 is probably more popular so they are selling out of the ammo loaded with their "special" powder faster.  Probably still have some inventory left in the 450 but for how long?  Who knows?  Wonder what will become of the special bullet drop compensated scopes now that the ballistics for the ammo has changed.

I ordered one of those scopes from Cabela's for my .444, it was a disappointing optic, returned it without ever mounting it.
