CCW Suggestions
« on: May 30, 2007, 08:38:08 AM »
I don't get to gun shows ever and the small gun shops near me don't have much in inventory.  I'm looking for some suggestions for a concealed carry weapon for a guy with big hands.

I'm a big guy, with big hands and the S&W 642 is a joy to carry.  I've tried a lot of other guns and this one just slips in a pocket really easy.  Mike Venturo just had an article in one of the gun mags about big guy carry guns.

I am going to get a pocket holster one of these days.  I lost the link, but there was a cool one made of kydex that I found.  It's just no hassle to carry the gun.

You didn't give much criteria to go by but any good compact 1911 should do.   KN

skamanic:  You might try going to a local range and visit with some of the shooters, most if not all would find it a joy to let you see and hold their handguns, some would even goes as far as let you fire off a few rounds, handguns are like women we all like them but its not until you find the perfect one are you ever happy, and shopping around is half of the pleasure of owning a new gun.  JIM

But you also could say that gun buffs are like women, we spend half our lives shopping!
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.
