Hi,First post.Have several clips of ammo & don't have a clue to what they are. 5 rounds to a clip. Headstamp F  A  25 R. Bullet is not jacketed and you can see a lube groove above crimp. Anyone know what caliber and what type of weapon? Thanks.

Need a lot more info than what you gave. Get the mikes out and get - bullet diameter, case length, rimmed or rimless, base diameter etc.
Or a good way to identify is find a copy of "Cartridges of the World" and compare the specs to the table in the back. Unless you have some less common wildcat, you will find it there 95% of the time.
Hope this helps.

Hello Villager,

Your roumds are produced by the Frankford Arsenal in Philadelphia, PA, and allthough not being able to give you a caliber, I can tell you that with the "R" on the head stamp, they were for a rifle rather than a carbine. The numer 25 can be the date of manufacture .
