OK i just got one.  how do i tel lif its micro groove or ballard!

I have one and on the left hand side of the barrel it says:

MOD. 1894 - CARBINE - MICRO-GROOVE - CAL. .357 MAGNUM

I don't know for sure, but I think that if it were Ballard, it would say that specifically or it would be left out completely.

Either way, if it is MICRO-GROOVE, it should be stamped right on the barrel.
