Essentials kits for my Thompson contender carbine
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:11:34 AM »
Last summer I took the contender camping with me.  While changing out the barrel I managed to loose both forend screws somewhere under the picnic table.  I tried it with out the forend but the hinge pin would walk side to side.  SO...

I came up with my "essentials kit"

5 - 10X32 X 3/4" hex head screws (rear forend)
5 - 10X32 X 1/2" hex head screws (Front forend)
20 - #10 flat washers (freefloating the barrel, and the hex head screws are a hair to long)
1 - spare grip bolt
4 - spare scope mount screws
1  - allen wrench for the forend screws
1 - allen wrench fore the grip screws
1 folding X wrench with philips and slot ends.

All this fits into a small zippered bag which fits in the rear of my "Survivor" stock I have on my carbine.

Over all I am set for the field.

Anyone have any other idea on items I could add?

And the stock can be found here at:

Great stock!  I love it so much more then the "standard style" contender stock I had.

Large plastic garbage bag.

Old Indian trick:  Put the gun in the bag.  Stick arms into the bag.  Work on gun.  All lost parts are contained in the bag.
