Broken Firing Pin on Farmingdale Shiloh Sharps
« on: May 26, 2003, 07:02:10 PM »
I have an early Farmingdale Shiloh Sharps that has a broken firing pin. Shiloh Sharps very kindly sent me a new one. I am very impressed with their backup and service. My firing pin seems to be part of the striker/transfer bar. Can I file off the broken firing pin and solder the new one in place. I have had my rifle re-chambered from 45/70 to 45/100 to get rid of the ½ inch throat in front of the chamber and are very keen to see if I can get it to shoot OK. Any hints on loads would be appreciated. My rifle has a 1 in 20 rate of twist.
