did some plinking today
« on: June 07, 2007, 05:39:50 AM »
been dealing with a bad back but forced myself to go out today Took the 16in 3030 tc carbine out and shot some at 100 yards and was very impressed. It shot 39 grains of 748 and a 120 lbt lfngc into 1 1/4 and a ballistic cast 120swcgc into an inch. Not bad for screaming little cast bullets. They were cast out of #2 and sized and lubed on the star to 310 with the lube i make and then tumble lubed too. Ive got around 150 rounds though it now and its just starting to show some signs of light lead in the barrel but certainly not enough lead to effect accuacy. Just a light grey wash toward the end of the barrel. Sure like that little gun. It shoots the same bullets about an inch low at 25 with 8 grains of unique into one little hole and is still doing under an inch at 50 yards. Blasting 6 inch rocks at 200 yards with the hot load is about boreingly easy.
