Feel bad
« on: June 08, 2007, 02:56:13 PM »
Selling my 44 mag Handi, my bull barrel 243 and my 7-08. Got new barrels for my Pro Hunter Encore, 243, 280 and 25-06. The Encore is lighter and more accurate for me. The above Handi's never shot well for me. Of course, I have a SS 243 Handi that I got shooting real well and my 35 Whelen, 308, 45-70, 223 & 204 Fluted Varmit rifles and my 22-250 Handi all shoot well and I'll keep them forever........

no reason to feel bad. If you have a gun that won't shoot well what's the point in keeping it? All it will do is take up space.

I felt bad selling my 223 1:12 barrel.  It shot the fool out of WWB ammo.  But that is all that it would shoot.  The Black Hills SP were second best at 1.75" or so.  It shot the 45gr WWB so well that it was just boring if you can believe it.  My problem was..........there was nothing to really do with a single shot varmint rifle.  3 years later I don't regret it because the Savage 223 will shoot most anything well (Wolf, WWB, M193) to 1.5 MOA and handloads to a lot less.  I feel more comfortable with 65, 60, and 55 gr bullets.  (they are still ridiculously small bullets though)

I don't regret selling that 44 Handi for one minute.  For all of the time that I spent.....I have 40 pages of targets in my binder for that crummy barrel.  I hope that the buyer got some use out of it.
