Last weekend I went out with 5 other guys and we killed over 700 prairie dogs in four fields all in under 6 hours.
The last field we shot from the center out. It was 510 yards to the outside of the field. All 6 of us were making kills at that distance.
One of the guys was a custom rifle builder. I was a bit surprised to see him pull out a .223 HR. He liked to use it for the 100-200 yard shots while his other guns were cooling down.
I decided 2 things. #1, The HR is getting 3 more .223 barrels fitted to it this winter. That way I always have a cool barrel. #2, I am looking for a Remington 700 action to send to Lee Jurras. I am going to have him build me a custom rifle on that action. Oh, one more thing.
