The trick to painting a Handi is all in the prep work , for the wood stocks i like to sand down the finish that H&R puts on to the point that only wood remains , then use a good sandable primer like you use on cars . Just about any quality spray paint will work for the top coat color .
As for the Syn. ( Tupperwear ) make sure you de-grease all parts well , plain rubbing alc. works best and leaves no residue . for paint use Krylon Fusion and you don't need to use primer . Use this same treatment for all the metal parts .
If you want to put a dull finish on , all you need to do is get a can of the spray poly in a flat or satin . There is not to much to screw up and if all else failes you can sand it off and start over .
