Jordan style grips
« on: June 22, 2007, 04:32:49 AM »
Ok guys Ive strayed, in my wasted youth I was convinced if you were going to carry a handgun then it should be an Automatic.  BUT now Ive seen the light and Im hoping to allowed back into the fold.  If it helps the last 5 pieces Ive bought/traded for have been DA revolvers, and in previous posts Ive wondered about replacing my Glock 36 with a DA revolver for trail protection...

Sooo now Im hooked but I want more.  I love the look and feel of Jordan style grips but cant seem to find a source for them.  Who makes that style?  Can I get them for Ruger, and Colt?

Unless you have rather large hands with long fingers, the standard Herrett grips would be too large for most folks.  For anyone smaller, Jordan's grips would need to be custom made to order.  You might try some of the later model Hogues for a good over-the-counter grip.  For custom grips, let the internet and your wallet be your guides.

Here's their number: 208-733-1498
Robin usually answers the phone and Dee makes the grips. They're custom made to fit your hand size and most assuredly worth the wait and cost.

Thanks, Broom Rider! Thats exactly what I was looking for, as a matter of fact it was some of your pics that got me thinking about them.

You're most welcome. Since they make them to fit your hand specifically you should get a good fit. If they come out a little large, call Dee and tell her about it and then she can trim them down a bit.

If you have multiple grips made over a period of time do they all come out the same?  Or are there variations in the grips?

That's a good question.  I'm not sure I know the answer.
I do know that when I found one that fit my hand really really well I had them make a copy or pattern or whatever for it so that when the rest of the 30 or 40 or so sets were made for me they all come out about as close to identical as possible.
All but just a small number of my guns feel about the same grip wise when held.

Well................I've got a few sets and never bothered to consider the cost. I've been having these made now since about 1988 or 89.
If I stopped to consider all the money I poured into grips I'd probably cry.
