I got one already. I got it because they did not have any 44 Mag barrels when I ordered mine (two years ago). The way it turned out I am glad I got the 357 since the 44 mag barrels do not shoot good unless you use an over sized cast bullet.
I have read that the barrels are better now. The reason I wanted one in the first place was because I had every thing to reload with already. I wanted a plinker, but load it up if need be. I had to go out and purchase every thing for the 357. I might consider a 44 barrel again. The reports of the 45 Colt barrels are good too. I would have to go out and purchase all of that too. Dang it I should take Tim's advice and just buy them all.
Heh heh, I have dies, bullets and brass for a rifle that doesn't even exist yet, Wayne probably hasn't even started on it yet!! Tim
H&R doesn't make em, they weld the underlug on, chamber and fit them, Marlin is making all their barrels except the Buffalo Classic 45-70 barrel which is made by Green Mountain. They've also got a 2 week shutdown coming up soon, that's gotta figure into the 8-10 week wait too. Considering the 357Mag has been out of production twice, just be glad they're still offering it as an accessory barrel. Tim
