Remington 7400 .280 Carbine
« on: June 23, 2007, 06:20:55 PM »
   Hi y'all
 This is my first post.

I was going to purchase a Rem. 750 carbine in .308, but the dealer said there where non in stock and could be a long while.
I went to a gun show the following week and bought a Rem. 7400 carbine in .280. It is in almost new condition with black synthetic stocks.
I have only seen Remington offer the 7400 carbine in 30-06. I called Remington and was told it was a special dealer order.
Does anybody have one or any opinions or knowledge on this rifle?

Thanks

It's junk, you don't want it. I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands. Send me a PM and we'll make the arrangements!  ;)

I have one with the walnut stock. Handy woods rifle. I have not killed anything with it yet. I left the rifle sights no scope. MIKE.

In the past I had the 742 and 7400 rifles in 30-06. The 742 jammed alot, and the 7400 worked every time. I hope to try the .280 out this weekend with the open sights.
I'm probably going to put a 4X 40 Nikon before hunting season.
Remington didn't say how many of the .280 carbines where made. Got any ideas?  Topknot

I was told 200 of each, wood and plastic. I watched both models on gunsamerica.com for several months e-mailed the guy and said I would take the plastic he said both were sold. A few weeks later the wood was back on the guy who said he would buy it never sent the money so I got the wood.
